Decatur Woman Arrested for Stealing and Selling Stolen Car in Madison County

(WHNT) — A woman from Decatur was arrested on Tuesday after a stolen vehicle was discovered to have been sold to a resident of Madison County, according to the Decatur Police Department.

Earlier in the month, authorities were alerted to a vehicle theft. Upon investigation, they determined the stolen car had been sold to someone residing in Madison County. The Decatur Police successfully recovered the vehicle and initiated further inquiry into the incident.

The investigation led to the identification of Angela Carter, a Decatur woman, as the primary suspect in the case. She was arrested and charged with first-degree theft and second-degree theft by deception.

Carter was transported to the Morgan County Jail, where she is being held on a bond set at $7,500.
