Deandre Marquelez Foster Sentenced to 200 Years for Double Murder

FRESNO, Calif. (FOX26) — A man has been sentenced to 200 years to life in prison for a 2021 double murder in Fresno, the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office (FCSO) reported.

On Friday, 28-year-old Deandre Marquelez Foster was sentenced after being convicted by a jury in 2024 for the crimes.

FCSO states that in April 2021, Foster killed 50-year-old Michelle Johnson and 21-year-old Charlotte Ethridge in a Fresno home. On April 9, Johnson went to check on her goddaughter Charlotte after hearing a disturbance at Charlotte’s home.

Foster confronted Johnson at the doorway, and an argument ensued. The confrontation ended when Foster shot and killed Johnson in the breezeway of the home. He then turned the gun on Charlotte, shooting and killing her.

Foster fled the scene but was captured by Fresno Police two days later.

Foster’s criminal history dates back to 2009, with prior convictions for robbery in 2013 and 2017, as well as multiple gun possession charges in 2016 and 2019. He was on Post Release Community Supervision at the time of the double murder. While in custody, Foster assaulted another inmate in 2023 and was charged with battery causing serious bodily injury.
