Dayna Finnigan Arrested for Stealing $100K Worth of Jewelry

ARDEN, N.C. (FOX Carolina) – Dayna Finnigan, 23, is facing multiple charges after allegedly stealing over $100,000 worth of jewelry from residents at a retirement community in Buncombe County.

The Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office reported that Finnigan was employed by a third-party company while working at 2400 Appalachian Boulevard. The investigation began on December 12, 2024, after several residents filed complaints about items missing from their homes.

Detectives discovered that Finnigan had stolen more than 100 pieces of jewelry and sold them at a pawn shop. The sheriff’s office said the stolen items included both valuable jewelry and sentimental pieces.

On January 7, Finnigan was arrested and charged with obtaining property by false pretense, exploitation of an elder adult, and felony larceny. She was booked into the Buncombe County Detention Center.

The sheriff’s office continues to investigate the case, and Finnigan’s arrest highlights concerns about theft within vulnerable communities such as retirement facilities.
