The Visakhapatnam Cyber Crime Police have arrested Dasari Venkata Raghava Parthasarathy, a resident of Malkapuram, for his role in a large-scale cyber fraud scheme targeting Indian workers seeking overseas employment. The accused allegedly promised lucrative data entry jobs in countries like Cambodia, Myanmar, and Thailand, but instead, victims were forced into participating in illegal online scams upon their arrival in these Southeast Asian nations.
Parthasarathy, who had previously worked as a welder in Cambodia and other countries, is accused of luring individuals into the fraudulent scheme by offering attractive job opportunities. Once the victims arrived at their destinations, they were coerced into working for fraudulent online companies, generating significant profits for the accused and his associates.
According to the police, Chukka Rajesh, another key figure in the scam who has already been arrested, was instrumental in recruiting individuals and sending them to Cambodia to participate in the illegal operations. The victims were reportedly guided by two individuals, Arya and Habib, both from the Philippines, who directed them to carry out the illegal activities once they reached Cambodia.
Parthasarathy’s arrest took place after he was intercepted at Bhubaneswar Airport while returning from Cambodia. The Visakhapatnam Cyber Crime Police had issued a look-out circular for him, leading to his capture. He is currently under interrogation as the police continue to investigate the full scope of the fraud.
