Monroe, LA – Detectives with the Monroe Police Department have arrested Daquan L. Murphy, 25, in connection with a drug trafficking organization allegedly distributing heroin and fentanyl in Ouachita Parish.
Investigation and Arrest
Authorities believe the organization sourced narcotics from Houston, Texas, and transported them to Ouachita Parish for distribution.
After an investigation, detectives obtained multiple arrest warrants for Murphy, along with a search warrant for his residence. On March 11, 2025, officers executed the search on South Tenth Street, where they reportedly seized:
A plastic bag containing a fentanyl-heroin mixture
A full bottle of promethazine
Digital scales with drug residue
A large quantity of assorted ammunition
Murphy was later found on Accent Drive and taken into custody.
Charges Against Murphy
Authorities say Murphy admitted to selling fentanyl and heroin. He was transported to the Ouachita Correctional Center and booked on the following charges:
