Daphne Zeringue, a 55-year-old woman, has been arrested and charged with first-degree murder in connection with the death of 68-year-old Gary Cooper in Long Beach, Mississippi. According to Harrison County Sheriff Matt Haley, deputies responded to a report of a stabbing at a residence on Daugherty Road early Thursday morning.
When deputies arrived, they found Cooper deceased from multiple stab wounds. Harrison County Coroner Brian Switzer confirmed the victim’s death at the scene.
Investigation by the sheriff’s department led to Zeringue being identified as the suspect. She turned herself in to the Long Beach Police Department shortly after the incident. Zeringue was booked into the Harrison County Adult Detention Facility, where she is being held on a $1 million bond, set by Justice Court Judge T. Lyons.
