Danny Ray Brittain Arrested on Multiple Felony Charges

MORGANTON, NC — Danny Ray Brittain, a 57-year-old resident of Rainhill Drive in Morganton, was arrested on Friday, November 8, by the Burke County Sheriff’s Office with assistance from multiple law enforcement agencies. Brittain faces two felony counts of habitual felon status, along with single felony charges of attempted insurance fraud and possession of a Schedule II controlled substance.

Authorities, including the Burke County Sheriff’s Office, the U.S. Marshals Task Force, the Carolina Regional Fugitive Task Force, and Probation and Parole, collaborated in the arrest after the U.S. Marshals Task Force received information indicating Brittain was hiding on North Greene Street in Morganton.

Brittain was apprehended without incident and transported to the Burke County Jail, where he remains held without bond. No court date has been announced at this time.
