LEXINGTON PARK, Md. — A St. Mary’s County man, Danielyn Marshall Winder, is facing multiple drug-related charges after detectives executed a search warrant at his Lexington Park residence on February 27, 2025. The search revealed his attempt to destroy evidence by flushing suspected cocaine down a toilet during the investigation.
Detectives from the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office Vice/Narcotics Unit had been monitoring Winder’s alleged drug distribution activities. When officers executed the search warrant, they observed Winder leaving his home on Munley Lane and entering a GMC Acadia. After a brief surveillance, officers stopped the vehicle at 11:25 a.m. and took Winder into custody.
While executing the search, Winder allegedly attempted to flush a plastic bag containing a white powdery substance, believed to be cocaine, down the toilet. The amount of cocaine, larger than typical personal-use quantities, led investigators to suspect it was intended for distribution. Additionally, a digital scale with white powder residue was found in Winder’s vehicle, along with over $1,300 in cash, believed to be connected to drug sales.
Later, while detained at the St. Mary’s County Detention and Rehabilitation Center, Winder attempted to discard more narcotics. A correctional officer found a tied-off plastic bag near Winder’s genitals during a strip search, but before it could be seized, Winder ran to a bathroom and tried to flush the contents, estimated to be a baseball-sized amount of white powder.
Winder faces several charges, including possession of a controlled dangerous substance (CDS), possession of CDS paraphernalia, obstructing justice, and altering physical evidence in a criminal proceeding, among others. Court records indicate that Winder was held without bond after a bail review on February 28, 2025.
