CUMBERLAND COUNTY, Tenn. — A 33-year-old man, Daniel Marwin, was arrested yesterday after admitting to moving a stolen vehicle and being found with methamphetamine.
The incident began around 2:17 p.m. when Deputy Aidyn Smith made contact with Marwin regarding a stolen green 1999 Honda CRV valued at $3,000. The vehicle had been left at a laundromat by its owner, who was arrested and later located at his home on Apache Trail. The car’s ignition had been punched out.
Upon questioning, the vehicle owner stated no one was authorized to have his vehicle. Marwin admitted to moving the car to Apache Trail, where he then emptied the owner’s belongings at the residence before the vehicle ended up missing from his property.
As Deputy Smith took Marwin into custody, a pink and clear Tupperware container was found in his pocket containing a crystal-like substance believed to be methamphetamine, weighing approximately 4 grams. Marwin was taken to the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office, where he was charged with theft of property and felony possession of meth.
The investigation is ongoing.
