Damon Keegan Jailed for Stealing Luxury Cars Worth £350,000

Damon Keegan, a car thief from Hyde, Greater Manchester, has been sentenced to six years and 11 months in prison for stealing luxury cars worth almost £350,000. Keegan, 31, used a variety of methods to target high-value vehicles, including disabling doorbell cameras by blocking Wi-Fi signals with a radio frequency jammer. This allowed him to break into homes and steal the cars without being detected.

His criminal activities spanned over 12 months, with numerous burglaries committed across Greater Manchester, Cheshire, and Derbyshire. Police launched an investigation in August 2023, leading to his arrest in November. During the investigation, officers discovered a range of burglary tools in his garage, including lock-picking sets, blank car keys, tracking devices, and a jammer identical to the one found at the scene of one of his crimes.

In one instance, in Knutsford, Keegan was disturbed by an alarm during a burglary, and in his haste to escape, he left behind the jammer, which was later linked to his DNA. He was also found to have committed crimes while under an electronic curfew.

The police representative emphasized the emotional and financial impact of Keegan’s actions on the victims, highlighting that his intrusive methods left people feeling unsafe in their own homes. Despite his efforts to conceal his crimes, Keegan was ultimately apprehended and convicted, ensuring justice for those affected.
