Popular Dallas rapper BigXthaPlug, whose real name is Xavier Landum, was arrested in Arlington, Texas, late Tuesday night after a traffic stop led to the discovery of marijuana and a firearm. The incident occurred just after midnight on North Collins Street when officers pulled over a vehicle for expired registration.
As officers approached the car, they reportedly smelled marijuana and asked both the driver and passenger to step out of the vehicle. Landum, 26, was identified as the driver and was found to have cigarettes and a “green leafy substance” in the center console. A handgun was discovered in the passenger-side door.
The passenger, 22-year-old Cleodist Landum, was also found to have marijuana on him and an active felony warrant out of Bexar County, Texas. Cleodist was charged with possession of marijuana and unlawful carrying of a weapon. Under Texas law, it is illegal to carry a firearm while in possession of an illegal substance.
Xavier Landum (BigXthaPlug) was arrested and booked into the Arlington City Jail on one count of possession of marijuana (<2 oz.). Cleodist Landum was also booked into the same jail. BigXthaPlug, a rising star in the Dallas music scene, began his career in February 2023 after spending time in jail, where he started writing songs.
