Dalang Tatung Arrested for Multiple Thefts in Naharlagun

Dalang Tatung, a 24-year-old habitual thief from Kurung Kumey district, was arrested by Naharlagun Police with the support of Leparada district Police on charges related to theft. The arrest is in connection with Naharlagun PS Case No 65/24 under Section 379 of the IPC. Police recovered several stolen mobile phones and other items from his possession.

Tatung was known for targeting unattended vehicles and stealing belongings from them. He also followed individuals who had just withdrawn money from banks, committing thefts in busy areas. After executing the crimes, Tatung would retreat to remote districts to evade capture.

With his arrest, Naharlagun police have successfully solved six previously registered theft cases. The operation that led to Tatung’s capture involved ASI Debia Teshi, Ct Kanto Samyor, Ct Majum Yongam, and Ct Sanu T Raaj, under the supervision of OC PS Naharlagun, Insp Krishnendu Dev, and SP Mihin Gambo.
