Cory Grado Sentenced to 17 Years for Sexual Assault and Recording

SAN MARCOS, Texas – Cory Grado, 23, of San Marcos, was sentenced to 17 years in prison after being convicted of sexual assault and invasive visual recording. The sentence was handed down after disturbing evidence was presented during his trial, which showed Grado recorded himself sexually assaulting a victim.

San Marcos police found numerous graphic photos and videos of the assault when they searched Grado’s phone. Additionally, police discovered images of the victim’s intimate areas. The jury also heard testimony from the victim, her boyfriend, and her mother.

Grado was sentenced to 17 years for sexual assault and two years in state jail for the invasive visual recording charge.

Assistant Criminal District Attorney Elizabeth Schmidt expressed gratitude to the jury for sending a clear message that these crimes would not be tolerated in the community. She also thanked the victim for her bravery in facing Grado in court.
