A New Britain man was arrested in Bristol on Monday for possession of cocaine and three pounds of marijuana, police said.
According to the Bristol Police Department, officers stopped 26-year-old Coron Burrell after identifying him as the driver of a vehicle that had previously refused to stop.
Upon searching the vehicle, police seized 3.3 pounds of marijuana, which was packaged for sale, along with 1.8 grams of cocaine and over $700 in cash. Authorities estimate the street value of the marijuana to be approximately $8,000.
Burrell was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of a controlled substance, and misuse of plates.
He is scheduled to appear in New Britain Court in March.
Police credited the arrest to Bristol’s newest crime-fighting unit.
