A Greenville man, Cornelius Tyrone Campbell, is facing multiple charges following his arrest in Pitt County on Saturday. The charges stem from an investigation into a larceny incident that occurred in Lenoir County.
According to authorities, Campbell is suspected of stealing a large sum of money and other items from a residence between January 12-17. A report was filed with the Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office on January 22, and detectives quickly began investigating the theft.
On February 1, Campbell was located by the Pitt County Sheriff’s Office. Following a brief foot chase, he was apprehended and taken into custody.
Campbell faces the following charges related to the Lenoir County incident:
Felony Larceny
Exploitation of a Disabled or Elder Adult Through a Position of Trust or Business Relationship
He was given a $20,000 secured bond for the Lenoir County charges.
In addition, Campbell is facing the following charges in Pitt County:
Felony Attempted Common Law Robbery
Misdemeanor Resisting a Public Officer
Felony Interfering with an Electronic Monitor
Misdemeanor Post-Release Violation
Felony Larceny
Felony Exploitation of a Disabled/Elder Adult in Trust
Authorities continue to investigate Campbell’s involvement in these incidents.
