Kobe Nance, a 25-year-old man from Corinth, has been sentenced to 20 years in prison after pleading guilty to manslaughter in connection with the shooting death of Shauna Lee Hurd. The sentence was handed down on Thursday, February 20, in the Circuit Court of Alcorn County.

The charge stems from an incident on July 7, 2022, when Hurd was fatally shot. Judge John R. White, who had been set to oversee the trial starting next week, imposed the 20-year prison sentence, which will be served under the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys Kyle Robbins and Clay Cummings, and the investigation was led by Corinth Police Department Investigator Jerry Rogers.

This tragic event has left the community grieving, as Nance faces two decades behind bars for his actions.
