Corey DeJoode Arrested for Multiple Felony Charges in Marshalltown

MARSHALLTOWN, IA — Corey Allen DeJoode, a 34-year-old rural Marshalltown man, was arrested on Thursday evening by deputies with the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) on a series of felony charges. DeJoode faces accusations of entering a barn near Gilman without permission, assaulting a man while armed with a handgun, and additional charges linked to his actions.

The incident in question occurred on February 10, 2025, and DeJoode has been charged with second-degree burglary, a Class C felony; going armed with intent, a Class D felony; assault while displaying a dangerous weapon, and driving while barred, both aggravated misdemeanors.

A separate complaint has been filed against DeJoode for second-degree criminal mischief, a Class D felony, and driving while barred. This charge is related to allegations that he drove a vehicle into the overhead garage door of an auto shop in Marshalltown, causing approximately $3,000 in damages.

DeJoode was arrested after being pulled over near Zeller Avenue and 190th Street on Thursday evening, where he was also charged with driving while barred and possession of open alcoholic beverages in the vehicle.

DeJoode is currently being held at the Marshall County Jail on a $35,000 cash-only bond. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for February 24, 2025, at 9:30 a.m.
