Corey Casagrande Steals from Deceased Customers’ Estates

Corey Casagrande, a former employee at Target Financial Services, is facing serious legal repercussions after stealing tens of thousands of pounds from the estates of deceased individuals. His fraudulent activities, motivated by a gambling addiction and a desire for a lavish lifestyle, were brought to light when his partner’s social media showcased expensive holidays and designer goods.

During a hearing at Merthyr Tydfil Crown Court, it was revealed that Casagrande was dismissed from his position after his actions came to light. Following this, he became involved in drug trafficking, specifically transporting Class A drugs for an organized crime group, and was apprehended with a kilo of cocaine while traveling from Merseyside to South Wales.

In 2020, while serving as a team leader, Casagrande exploited his role to embezzle funds from deceased Credit Suisse clients. His responsibilities included tracking executors of these estates and facilitating access to funds through “small estates forms,” which required verification from solicitors to confirm the legitimacy of the claims. An internal investigation launched by Target Financial Services uncovered £75,000 missing from three different accounts, with payments made to third parties using fraudulent documents.
