The police have concluded an ID parade for two men, Siyanda Emmanual Mbulwana (29) and Mcebisi Corlen Runeyi (28), who stand accused of the attempted murder of SARS prosecutor, Advocate Coreth Naude.
The two suspects were formally charged with attempting to kill Naude, following an alleged shooting incident linked to her role in prosecuting high-profile tax cases. Police sources revealed that the ID parade was a critical step in the investigation, allowing Naude to identify the individuals involved in the attack.
Both Mbulwana and Runeyi have been detained and face serious charges related to the shooting, which occurred under mysterious circumstances. The two are suspected of having carried out the attack in retaliation for Naude’s work with the South African Revenue Service (SARS).
Following the ID parade, law enforcement is continuing their efforts to gather further evidence and determine the full extent of the involvement of the accused in the crime. The case has drawn significant attention due to the high-profile nature of the prosecutor and the brazen nature of the attack.
While details about the investigation are still emerging, the police remain focused on ensuring the suspects face justice for the alleged attempted murder.
