Contractor Audrea Gilliom Arrested for Theft and Impersonation

Memphis, Tenn. — Audrea Gilliom, a contractor with AVE Concrete Contractors, was arrested on Wednesday, facing serious charges of theft of property and impersonating a licensed professional. Gilliom was granted release on a $40,000 bond.

Gilliom’s arrest follows complaints from two women, including Dr. Shayna Wilson, who claim they were scammed out of thousands of dollars for work that was never completed. Wilson, who was driving back to Memphis from Louisiana, expressed frustration over the unfinished work on her property, including a $32,000 payment she made to Gilliom.

“I had to go and pick up the doors I paid for, doors that Gilliom didn’t finish installing,” Dr. Wilson said. She is still out nearly $50,000 due to the contractor’s actions.

Dr. Wilson, along with another woman, came forward to demand their money back from Gilliom, revealing the contractor’s history of unfinished work and deceptive practices. According to the state board of contractors, Gilliom had several complaints lodged against him, including using license numbers that didn’t belong to him and working without proper licensing.

Although attempts to reach Gilliom were unsuccessful, a text message was received from him the day after the story aired. In the message, Gilliom denied the allegations, stating they were false and requesting to connect with an attorney—yet no follow-up has been made.
