Connecticut Man Arrested in Bangor for Drugs and Firearm Possession

BANGOR, Maine (WGME) — A 40-year-old man from New Haven, Connecticut, was arrested early Friday morning in Bangor after a routine traffic stop led to the discovery of drugs and a loaded firearm.

Maine State Police say they pulled over Cyrus Griffin on I-95 around 12:30 a.m. for speeding. Griffin was operating the vehicle without a valid driver’s license. Further investigation revealed that Griffin was on parole in Connecticut for homicide and was prohibited from leaving the state.

During the search of Griffin’s vehicle, police discovered a loaded pistol under the driver’s seat, which Griffin was prohibited from possessing. In addition to the firearm, officers found 375 grams of cocaine, 69 grams of cocaine base, 142 grams of fentanyl xylazine, and $2,100 in suspected drug money.

Griffin was arrested and taken to Penobscot County Jail, where he is being held on a $150,000 bond.
