Travis Dewayne Dennis, 41, of Columbia, was arrested Wednesday after a narcotics investigation led officers to his home on Shamrock Drive. Dennis was accused of selling drugs, including crack cocaine, and faces several charges, including drug trafficking and firearm possession.
According to court documents, the Columbia Police Department’s Vice, Narcotics, and Organized Crime Unit, along with Boone County Sheriff’s deputies, conducted multiple undercover drug buys from Dennis in March 2024. The investigation culminated in a search of Dennis’s home, where officers recovered significant amounts of drugs and firearms.
During the search, authorities discovered 12.5 pounds of methamphetamine, 91 grams of cocaine, and 115 grams of crack cocaine. They also found two firearms, one of which was reported as stolen. Further investigation revealed additional methamphetamine hidden in Dennis’s car, along with a substantial amount of cash.
As a result, Boone County prosecutors charged Dennis with two counts of Second-Degree Trafficking Drugs, two counts of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, and one count of Delivery of a Controlled Substance. Dennis is currently being held in the Boone County Jail without bond.
