A Columbia man, Michael Shields, 45, was arrested on Monday after being accused of two separate instances of sexual misconduct, according to the Columbia Police Department (CPD).
The incidents, which took place in local stores, involved Shields allegedly following women while engaging in inappropriate behavior. The first incident occurred on December 11 of last year on the 3600 block of Rangeline Street, and the second took place on February 28 of this year on the 1900 block of North Providence Road.

Shields is currently being held in the Boone County Jail as the investigation continues.
