Nearly two months after dismantling a network of peddlers selling prescription drugs and narcotics in Coimbatore, city police have apprehended a 69-year-old pharmacist, Vasanth Shetty, for his role as a key supplier. Shetty, who ran the Karnataka Medicals pharmacy in Hubballi, Karnataka, was arrested on Saturday by a special team of the Coimbatore police.
Shetty is accused of supplying prescription drugs and other narcotics to the peddlers involved in the illegal drug trade in Coimbatore. His arrest is part of an ongoing crackdown on the city’s drug trafficking network.
