Coimbatore Bar Employee Arrested for Migrant Worker Murder

Police in Coimbatore arrested S. Aravind, a 24-year-old employee at a bar in Neelambur, on Sunday in connection with the murder of a migrant worker. The victim, Pobitra Rai, 44, a wall painter from Tushkhali village in West Bengal, had visited the bar on October 31 to celebrate Deepavali with friends.

During the celebration, Rai, under the influence of alcohol, reportedly verbally abused Aravind. In a fit of rage, Aravind broke an empty beer bottle and stabbed Rai in the abdomen, leading to the migrant worker’s death. The police arrested Aravind following their investigation into the incident.
