Cody Collett Arrested in London, KY for Stolen Vehicle & Firearm

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. – A London man was arrested on Tuesday after allegedly stealing a vehicle and being found in possession of a stolen firearm, according to the Laurel County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded Monday morning to a report of a stolen vehicle. After locating the car and running the license plate, officers confirmed it had been reported stolen.

The driver, identified as 28-year-old Cody Collett, was found with a stolen 9MM pistol tucked into his waistband. Authorities also discovered that Collett was a convicted felon with an active warrant.

Charges Against Collett:
Receiving stolen property ($10,000 or more)
Receiving stolen property – firearm
Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon
Failure to appear in court (Laurel District Court warrant)
Second-degree fleeing or evading police on foot
Third-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument
Collett was taken into custody without incident. Authorities continue to investigate the case.
