A 32-year-old man from Rockland, Maine, is facing multiple charges, including theft and violation of conditions of release, after an alleged shoplifting incident on Monday.
According to the Rockland Police Department, Clifford Dumont was identified as the suspect involved in a shoplifting case at a local retailer. This arrest follows his previous run-ins with the law. In late November, Dumont was arrested on several charges, including felony burglary, theft, criminal mischief, and criminal trespassing. At the time, he was released on unsecured bail and a Maine pre-trial contract.
However, authorities later discovered that Dumont had lied about his address, violating the conditions of his release. As a result, a warrant was issued for his arrest.
On Tuesday, Rockland police located Dumont and arrested him on the outstanding warrant, adding new theft charges to his record. Dumont now faces legal consequences for both the recent shoplifting and his previous violations.
