Clarksville Man Evan Neely Arrested After High-Speed Chase

A Clarksville man, Evan G. Neely, was arrested following a dramatic high-speed chase that began in Adairville, Kentucky, and ended in Tennessee.

On Sunday, February 23, Adairville police observed a blue BMW matching the description of a stolen vehicle out of Clarksville, Tennessee. The officers saw Neely near the vehicle around 9:23 a.m. on the Adairville Square. When they attempted to speak to him, he fled in the BMW, nearly hitting nearby individuals.

The chase reached speeds exceeding 134 miles per hour as Neely drove through Adairville and onto U.S. 431 South into Tennessee. During the pursuit, Logan County deputies recovered a bag of evidence that Neely had discarded near Smith Grove Road.

The chase ended when law enforcement successfully disabled the vehicle. Neely then fled on foot but was later apprehended by the Robertson County Sheriff’s Office. Authorities found him to be under the influence and in possession of drug paraphernalia and suspected methamphetamine.

Additionally, Taylor M. Banaszek of Jacksonville, Florida, was arrested in Adairville. Banaszek was found with stolen credit cards and was also under the influence of methamphetamine. A third individual was released without charges.

Neely is facing multiple charges in Tennessee, including theft of stolen property, resisting arrest, reckless driving, and driving on a revoked or suspended license. He is set to be extradited to Kentucky to face felony charges. Banaszek is being held in the Logan County Detention Center.
