Clanton Police Arrest Man in Attempted Bank Robbery Heist

CLANTON, AL – The Clanton Police Department apprehended 32-year-old Michael Jimenez of Jefferson County on Wednesday morning in connection with an attempted bank robbery at River Bank & Trust. Around 9:20 a.m., officers responded to reports of an armed robbery at the bank’s 2040 7th Street South location.

Witnesses described the suspect as fleeing in a white Dodge Charger without a license plate. Law enforcement quickly located a matching vehicle near the 213 exit on I-65 Southbound. After a brief pursuit, officers managed to stop the vehicle using a barricade and detained Jimenez.

Investigators linked Jimenez’s vehicle to a similar robbery at a Dodge City bank in September. Jimenez faces a charge of first-degree robbery and remains in custody.
