City Crime Branch Seizes ₹2.73 Crore in Illegal Cash Transport

The City Crime Branch police have seized Rs2,73,27,500 in cash that was being transported illegally without proper documentation. The cash was discovered hidden in the modified cabin of a goods truck traveling from Sangli to Hubballi on the Pune-Bengaluru national highway, within the jurisdiction of the Mal-Maruti police station, on Friday evening.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) Rohan Jagadeesh reported that the seizure followed credible information about the illegal transportation of cash. A specialized team, led by CCB Inspector Nandishwar Kumbar, intercepted the vehicle.

Upon thorough examination and with mechanical assistance, the concealed cash amounting to Rs2,73,27,500 was found. Two suspects, Sachin Menkudale and Maruti Murgod, both residents of Sangli, have been arrested in connection with the incident.
