SHELBY COUNTY, Ala. — Two individuals were arrested on drug-related charges in Shelby County on Tuesday.
The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office reported that Christy Pilkington was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Her arrest occurred while deputies were serving a felony warrant in east Shelby County.
During the arrest, Christy’s husband, Jerry Pilkington, allegedly attempted to obstruct deputies and was subsequently informed he was under arrest. Jerry resisted arrest but was ultimately taken into custody. He faces multiple charges, including obstructing governmental operations, resisting arrest, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and trafficking in methamphetamine.
Both individuals are being held in Shelby County Jail as the investigation continues.
