Christopher Montealvo Arrested for Drive-By Shootings and Prohibited Weapon in Seguin

SEGUIN, Tex. – A month-long investigation into several drive-by shootings in the Seguin area led to the arrest of 20-year-old Christopher Montealvo. The Seguin Police Department’s CASE Unit carried out the investigation, which also resulted in the recovery of an altered Glock 27, a 40-caliber handgun. This alteration, known as a switch, converted the weapon into a fully automatic firearm, making it a prohibited weapon in Texas without special permits.

On February 19, 2025, at approximately 3:30 p.m., officers from the Seguin Police Department CASE Unit conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on the 5000 block of the IH 10 W access road, where Montealvo was a passenger. During the stop, Montealvo was found in possession of the altered handgun (machine gun) and a THC vape cartridge.

Montealvo was arrested and charged with Possession of a Prohibited Weapon, a third-degree felony, and Possession of a Controlled Substance PG 2, a state jail felony. The Seguin Police Department has referred the case to the appropriate federal agency for possible federal charges.

Seguin Police Department officials emphasize their commitment to investigating and arresting those responsible for violent crimes in the community to improve the quality of life for Seguin residents.
