Christopher David Wheeler Arrested on Multiple Drug-Related Charges

Christopher David Wheeler, a 47-year-old Sutherland man, was arrested on February 10 following O’Brien County warrants for drug-related offenses, including possession of marijuana and THC, both third or subsequent offenses, possession of drug paraphernalia, and keeping premises or a vehicle for controlled substances. The charges stemmed from a search warrant executed on October 25 at his residence at 207 W. Third St., according to the Sutherland Police Department.

During the search, law enforcement found several glass pipes containing an off-white powder in Wheeler’s bedroom, along with two bongs in his basement. The authorities also discovered five THC vaping devices filled with liquid that field-tested positive for THC, two tooters, and a scale near money envelopes and small resealable plastic bags.

The powder found in the pipes was sent to the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation Criminalistics Laboratory in Ankeny, where it was confirmed to be methamphetamine. Warrants for Wheeler’s arrest were issued on February 4, and he was subsequently taken into custody.
