Chinese Woman Arrested for Human Trafficking in Chon Buri

Chon Buri – A Chinese woman, Lyu Ruoxi, was arrested in Bang Lamung district on Saturday morning on suspicion of human trafficking. The police Cyber Crime Investigation Bureau (CCIB) apprehended her after a warrant was issued by the Criminal Court on December 17, 2024, for allegedly facilitating illegal border crossings.

Authorities suspect Lyu was acting as an agent, helping to smuggle migrant workers for foreign businesses operating illegally in Thailand. The Office of the Attorney General (OAG) is now coordinating with Chinese authorities to move forward with her extradition.

Once the legal process in Thailand is completed, Lyu is set to be extradited for further legal action. Police are continuing to investigate the broader scope of her trafficking operations.
