In a major drug trafficking crackdown, the Chikkamagaluru CEN (Cyber, Economics, and Narcotics) Crime Police arrested two individuals for illegally transporting marijuana. The police seized 10.4 kg of ganja, valued at Rs2 lakh, along with a scooter and a mobile phone used in the crime.
The arrested suspects, identified as Wasim Pasha and Nazima from Santhe Maidan Tamil Colony, were apprehended on Tuesday night. Acting on a tip-off, the police conducted a raid near Dantaramakki Cross, a route connecting Deepa Nursing Home to the bypass road. During the operation, officers intercepted the duo’s scooter and discovered the contraband upon inspection.
Both accused have been taken into custody, and a case has been registered at the CEN Crime Police Station. The police continue to investigate further into the drug trafficking network and the origins of the seized marijuana.
