Chikkamagaluru Gang Used Google to Learn How to Steal Mangalsutras

In a startling case of technology aiding crime, the Birur police in Chikkamagaluru district arrested a gang that used Google searches to learn how to commit theft. The trio, identified as Kallesh, Raju, and Basavaraj from Yavakanamaradi village in Belagavi district, snatched three women’s mangalsutras within just one hour before getting caught.

Lacking criminal experience, the accused turned to the internet, searching terms like “how to steal” and “how to escape without leaving evidence.” Using these online tips, they meticulously planned and executed their robbery spree.

Police recovered 68 grams of stolen gold jewellery and the Pulsar bike used during the thefts. The swift arrest highlights the growing trend of criminals exploiting online resources to carry out crimes, but also showcases effective police action in curbing such offenses.
