OAK BROOK, Ill. — Terry Kahdijah, a 30-year-old Chicago woman, was arrested Wednesday night after a dramatic police pursuit near the Oakbrook Center mall. The incident began when Kahdijah was suspected of being involved in a retail theft investigation in Countryside.
The Incident Unfolds
Police in an unmarked squad car were following Kahdijah’s vehicle as she left the mall. Authorities claim that as she was driving, Kahdijah’s car rolled backward, striking the squad car. She then sped off, fleeing the scene.
At the intersection of Route 83 and 22nd Street, Kahdijah crashed into another car, causing her vehicle to stall. Despite the crash, Kahdijah refused to exit the vehicle.
Arrest and Charges
Officers responded by smashing the back window of the vehicle and pulling Kahdijah out. She was then taken into custody.
Kahdijah now faces several charges, including resisting arrest, and she is also under investigation for her involvement in a retail theft.
Court Proceedings
A judge has ordered that Kahdijah remain in custody as she awaits trial for the charges.
