Chicago Man Arrested for Alleged Carjacking in West Englewood

A Chicago man, Stone Sawyer, 26, has been arrested in connection with a carjacking that occurred on Thursday morning in the West Englewood neighborhood. Sawyer is facing a felony charge of vehicular hijacking after the incident, which took place around 9 a.m. in the 7300 block of South Wood Street.

Sawyer is accused of targeting a 49-year-old woman in the carjacking. Less than an hour after the crime, police located Sawyer in the 600 block of West 79th Street and took him into custody. He is scheduled to appear at a detention hearing on Friday.
