Chennai Police Arrest 3 for Cheating in Online Job Scam

The Greater Chennai Police made significant progress on Thursday by arresting three individuals involved in a fraudulent online job scam. The accused were allegedly cheating people by promising part-time marketing jobs through WhatsApp advertisements.

According to police reports, G. Arunkumar, a 21-year-old engineering graduate from Arumbakkam, became a victim of the scam after he came across a WhatsApp ad offering part-time marketing opportunities. Intrigued, Arunkumar contacted the number provided in the advertisement, where he was greeted by a person posing as an HR Manager. The scammer instructed Arunkumar to complete several tasks and promised him payment for his efforts.

As Arunkumar followed the instructions, he realized that the tasks were part of a larger scheme designed to deceive him. Upon further investigation, the police arrested three individuals connected to the scam, including the person who posed as the HR Manager.

The Greater Chennai Police have successfully apprehended the perpetrators involved in this fraudulent operation. Authorities are continuing to investigate the extent of the scam and are urging other potential victims to come forward.
