Chaunique Prentiss Arrested for Stealing from Man on Las Vegas Strip

A Las Vegas woman, Chaunique Prentiss, was arrested and charged with robbery, fraud, and burglary after allegedly stealing items from a man on the Las Vegas Strip.

Prentiss, 31, is accused of taking multiple items, including credit cards, from a man staying at the Fontainebleau Hotel. The incident occurred on the morning of August 30, when the victim reported that he had been drugged and items from his room were missing.

According to police reports, the victim had met several women at the Bleau Bar at the Fontainebleau earlier that morning but did not recall bringing anyone to his hotel room. When he woke up later, he noticed he was dizzy, and his watch, backpack, and credit cards were missing. Surveillance footage reviewed by police identified Prentiss as the suspect.

The footage showed Prentiss interacting with the victim at the bar, then heading to his room and later leaving the hotel with a purse and a laundry bag containing stolen items.

Authorities later arrested Prentiss on September 6 near her residence. Upon being taken into custody, Prentiss admitted to having the stolen items in her home. Officers found several luxury watches, glasses, and electronics in her possession. Investigators also discovered that Prentiss had used the victim’s credit cards to make significant purchases at Lux Beauty, CVS, and Cash America Pawn Shop.

During questioning, Prentiss claimed the victim was supposed to “take care of her,” but when he fell asleep, she took his belongings. She denied taking cash and one of the credit cards, but acknowledged her mistake.

Prentiss posted a $10,000 bail earlier this week. She is scheduled to return to court on December 16.
