Richard “Rick” Davis, 73, a Chattanooga jewelry store owner, was arrested for the second time in less than a year on Tuesday evening. According to the police report, Davis was taken into custody at his store, located on Brainerd Road, where he is accused of passing worthless checks on or around January 14, 2025.
Davis, who was booked at the Hamilton County Jail and Detention Center, faces two counts of passing worthless checks. He is set to appear in court on March 17, 2025, for this latest case.
In addition to the new charges, Davis is also facing seven counts of theft following a grand jury indictment in October 2024. His trial for these theft charges is scheduled to begin on February 6, 2025.
The ongoing legal proceedings against Davis highlight his troubled history with the law, and both the check-related case and the theft charges are part of a wider pattern of criminal allegations.
