A domestic dispute in Jacksonville, Florida, led to the uncovering of a major drug trafficking operation after officers with the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office (JSO) responded to the scene on Thomas Street, off McDuff Avenue South.
Upon arrival, officers found a large quantity of drugs in plain sight, prompting a call for Narcotics Detectives to conduct a thorough investigation. The subsequent search of the home revealed not only significant amounts of illegal substances but also firearms and cash stashed throughout the property.
The man at the center of the dispute, 32-year-old Charles Henry Lang, was arrested and charged with nine felonies, including trafficking fentanyl, cocaine, and ecstasy, as well as drug manufacturing and possession with intent to sell. Lang, a convicted felon, was also charged with domestic battery and misdemeanor criminal mischief.
Seized items included:
17.7 grams of fentanyl
1,661.8 grams (1.5 kilos) of cocaine
71.5 grams of ecstasy
18.5 grams of oxycodone pills
435.6 grams of marijuana
6 firearms (one of which was stolen)
2 fully automatic switches
Nearly $3,000 in cash
Lang remains in custody at the Duval County Correctional Facility with a bond of $2,285,030. His trial is scheduled for February 20, 2025, although the domestic battery charge was recently dropped.
