A 32-year-old man from Aberdeen, North Carolina, was arrested Thursday following a reported domestic disturbance near U.S. Highway 1 and John McQueen Road. Authorities responded to the scene on November 14, where they discovered a man, woman, and juvenile involved in an altercation.
The suspect, identified as Chaquwann Stubbs, allegedly assaulted both the adult female and the child. As a result of the investigation, Stubbs now faces multiple serious charges, including felony assault by strangulation, misdemeanor domestic violence, assault on a child under 12, misdemeanor child abuse, and injury to personal property.
During the investigation, officers also learned that Stubbs had an outstanding warrant for previous charges of communicating threats. In addition, during a search related to his arrest, Stubbs was found in possession of marijuana, leading to a further charge of possession of a controlled substance.
Stubbs was brought before a Moore County magistrate and is currently being held without bond, awaiting a hearing before a judicial official. He is considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
This case highlights the severity of domestic violence and child abuse, with authorities taking swift action to address the alleged offenses.
