In a swift breakthrough, the Chandrapur local crime branch, alongside Rajura police, arrested three individuals within hours of a brutal murder initially disguised as a road accident. The victim, 33-year-old Nitesh Nimkar, a resident of Sumthana in Rajura, was found dead near his motorcycle between the night of April 24 and the early morning of April 25. At first glance, it appeared to be the result of a tragic accident.
However, a forensic examination and further investigation revealed that Nimkar had been murdered. Police uncovered that the motive behind the crime was related to an illicit affair involving Nimkar’s wife. The prime suspect, Nandkishore Soyam (25), along with his accomplices, Kartik alias Golu Tekam and Royal Kulsange — all residents of Sumthana — had lured Nimkar to the location, engaged in a heated argument, and fatally assaulted him with an iron rod. After the brutal attack, they staged the scene to make it appear like a road accident.
A complaint filed by the victim’s father led to the registration of a case under Section 103(1) of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS)-2023 at the Rajura police station. The three accused were arrested and have been remanded to four days’ police custody (PCR). Further investigations are ongoing.
