Cesar Carvajal Lara Arrested in Salem for Fentanyl Trafficking

SALEM, N.H. – A 20-year-old Lawrence, Mass., man, Cesar Kelvin Carvajal Lara, was arrested by Salem police after being lured over the Massachusetts border as part of an investigation into a suspected overdose death.

Undercover Operation & Arrest
The investigation began on March 1, following a reported overdose death at a Salem residence. Posing as the deceased victim, detectives arranged a drug transaction, leading Lara to cross state lines, where he was promptly arrested.

Police recovered 10 grams of suspected fentanyl from Lara at the time of his arrest.

Charges & Detention
Lara is charged with selling more than 5 grams of fentanyl and is currently held without bail. Additionally, he is subject to a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detainer.

The overdose investigation is ongoing, and additional charges may follow.
