CBI Inspector Rahul Raj Sacked Over MP Nursing College Bribery Scam
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has dismissed its inspector, Rahul Raj, after he was arrested for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs10 lakh from the chairman of a Madhya Pradesh-based nursing college, officials reported on Wednesday. This action comes as part of the CBI’s strict enforcement of its “zero tolerance towards corruption” policy.
Raj was terminated under Article 311 of the Indian Constitution, which allows the government to remove public servants without an inquiry if necessary. The move highlights the agency’s firm stance against corruption within its ranks.
In addition to Raj’s dismissal, the CBI has also taken action against its Deputy Superintendent of Police, Ashish Prasad, who was named in the FIR. Prasad has been attached to the CBI headquarters pending further investigation.
The swift action by the CBI underscores its commitment to maintaining integrity within the agency and tackling corruption at all levels.
