“Carlos Vargas, Jorge Vargas Arrested for Attempted Oil Theft at Pizza Loven”

Police in Wyoming, Luzerne County, have arrested two men accused of attempting to steal cooking oil from Pizza Loven. The incident occurred on July 6 when officers, while patrolling Wyoming Avenue, recognized a truck known to be linked to local oil thefts.

The suspects, identified as Carlos Alfredo Pinas Vargas and Jorge Vargas, were seen pulling into the Pizza Loven parking lot. According to the Wyoming Area Regional Police Department, the two men claimed they were working for “Ecua Cooking Oil Recycle” and were instructed to collect the cooking oil and transport it to New Jersey.

However, when questioned, the men were unable to provide the name of any Pizza Loven employee who supposedly authorized them to take the oil. Consequently, police impounded their vehicle, and both men were taken into custody.

Pizza Loven’s owner confirmed to police that no one was authorized to remove oil from the premises. The suspects now face charges and are being held at the Luzerne County Correctional Facility.
