Carlos Borstad Arrested in Madera for Drugs and Unregistered Gun

MADERA, Calif. (FOX26) — A man was arrested in Madera during a traffic stop after police discovered drugs and an unregistered firearm.

On Friday, Officer Sanchez of the Madera Police Department stopped a motorcycle for not having mirrors or a license plate. The driver, 21-year-old Carlos Borstad, was found to have a felony warrant for his arrest.

During the search, officers discovered an unregistered Glock-style 9mm handgun and methamphetamine intended for sale. Due to his existing felony warrant, Borstad is prohibited from possessing firearms.

Borstad was arrested and booked into Madera County Jail on several felony weapons charges, drug sales, and his outstanding warrant.
