Carl Camacho, 40, and Michael Tudela, 44, have been charged with burglary and theft following an incident on Chalan Kanoa Drive. The two men are accused of breaking into a residence and stealing various items, including a washer, dryer, refrigerator, split-type air conditioner, mountain bikes, and tires.

The theft was reported to the Department of Public Safety (DPS) on December 15, 2024. Investigators were able to trace the stolen items back to Camacho and Tudela. Both men were arrested following the issuance of arrest warrants for the burglary.

During their bail hearing on Friday, Superior Court Associate Judge Joseph N. Camacho maintained a cash bail of $15,000 for the defendants. Both were remanded to the custody of the Department of Corrections.

According to DPS, Tudela was arrested on January 16, 2025, at a residence in Chalan Kanoa, while Camacho was taken into custody the following morning on January 17, 2025.

The investigation revealed that Camacho had told police that a week earlier, after midnight, Tudela brought all the stolen items to their house. When asked how Tudela managed to carry the large items by himself, Camacho explained that Tudela used a dolly.

In a separate theft case on January 13, 2025, Tudela was arrested and detained at the Department of Corrections. During his interrogation, he reportedly admitted to his involvement and led police to the scene. Tudela explained that Camacho had broken into the house by smashing a middle sliding window with a rock wrapped in cloth. They then took various items from the house, including a dryer, laundry machine, air conditioning unit, refrigerator, bicycles, and a large raft.

Tudela further stated that he had recently moved into Camacho’s house, and that it was Camacho’s idea to commit the burglary, as he knew the family. The residence had been unoccupied since September 2024, and the burglary was discovered when the homeowner’s daughter visited the house in December.

Both men now face serious charges, with their cases pending further court proceedings.
