A Cameron man, William Moore, 31, has been arrested by the Moore County Sheriff’s Department for a series of trailer and equipment larcenies across the county. Sheriff Ronnie Fields announced that Moore was taken into custody following an extensive investigation and is currently held at the Moore County Detention Center under a $277,500 secured bond.
“Between August and October of this year, the Moore County Sheriff’s Office received multiple reports of trailer and equipment larcenies throughout the Southern Pines, Carthage, and Robbins areas of the county,” Fields stated.
Moore faces several serious charges, including:
- Seven counts of felony larceny
- Four counts of larceny of a motor vehicle
- One count of possession of methamphetamine
- One count of possessing a controlled substance in jail
- One count of possession of stolen property
- One count of breaking and entering a motor vehicle
- One count of possession of a stolen motor vehicle
- One count of larceny after breaking into a motor vehicle
- Felony probation violation
Investigators recovered multiple trailers and several pieces of property stolen from Moore, Harnett, Montgomery, and Lee Counties, valued at over $55,000. The property has since been returned to its rightful owners.
Moore is scheduled to appear in court on November 15 and is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
